The Green Earth Recycling Kiosk model was developed to create an approachable, user-friendly recycling experience:
• The operation of our kiosk incorporates one 10 foot deep by 8 foot wide "retail" section, flanked on either side by a pair of 16 foot X 8 foot storage containers, all of which are completely sealed. Our entire operation occupies just (3) parking spaces.
• “Coffee-shop-style” kiosk features light jazz music, full color images of natural landscapes, “Astroturf” flooring and a ceiling painted to look like a cloudy sky. Green Earth Recycling Kiosks dispense surgical-grade latex gloves allowing patrons to maintain personal cleanliness. Purchased materials are inserted directly into one of two adjoining storage containers, thereby being completely removed from the retail environment.
• The Green Earth Recycling kiosk is manned by 1 to 3 employees depending on traffic demands. Recycling transactions are generally conducted based on specifications of material received (speed, etc. of CPU received; size, age, quality of displays received, etc.); additionally, the Green Earth E-Recycling kiosk has an integrated platform scale built into the floor, enabling patrons to clearly view weights of materials recycled both on LED displays located at the entrance to the kiosk and on printed transaction receipts generated at the conclusion of recycling transactions.
• Web-based custom built software package enables host retailer’s representatives to review reports of Green Earth Recycling’s activities in real time, expressed in terms of revenues conferred as well as pounds spared from the waste stream and energy conserved as a result of that process.
